Another night of little sleep – Tony on top of the duvet and Jane under a towel. The pillows have to be folded into 4 to be of any use, and then they’re too small.
After a light breakfast we drove out to Schwangau where two more of King Ludwig’s follies are situated. They are called Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein, the latter shamelessly copied by Walt Disney as the blueprint for the ones at Disneyworld. We enjoyed the walks up, to and around the castles, along with literally thousands of others.
Had sandwich for lunch, then a nap and Tony put colour on Jane's hair. After vainly trying to get internet access we showered and ventured forth for dinner, returning to Ambiente. The cooking here appears a step forward from the ordinary fare served elsewhere. Tonight we had chicken in cornflake batter with mango while Jane settled for bruschetta and fried apple with ice cream. Both were excellent. During the evening Tony managed to wet himself (spilt water over table and himself) leaving an embarrassing mark on the chair. Got back to hotel at 10.30.
