Verona – 8 July 2011

Had a fairly idle day today – felt really tired after two day trips in a row. Had a full English breakfast - bacon, eggs and tomatoes with lovely fresh bread. Jane had to lie back down after it! Tony went shopping for stuff for evening meal before we go to the Opera tonight.  Returned with fillet steak and salad.  Just pottered around the apartment as it’s so hot outside.  Did some reading.  Decided to go to Milan tomorrow so it’s another early start.

After evening meal off we went to the arena for the Barber of Seville.  Despite hiring cushions the seats were still uncomfortable after sitting on them for 3 hours!  Great evening – what a location to see an Opera.  Started at 9.15 and finished just after midnight.
